Islam and society

Islam has given much importance to keep a good relationship with the society and the members in it. Though the basic principle of Islam is related to the faith in one God and the messengership of the last prophet of Islam, no one can escape here and hereafter if he does not keep a good contact with the society.  In numerous verses of Quraan and the Ahaadith of The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam we can find many instances of the importance given to the brotherhood.

Help your brother Allah will help you

Muhammad Sallallahu alaihi wasallam said:

“A Muslim is the brother of another Muslim. He should not attack him or put him to the enemies. If one is engaged in the need of one’s brother, Allah will be in his need. If one removes the difficulty of a Muslim Allah will remove the difficulties from the horrors of the Last Day. If one hides (the weakness of a Muslim), Allah will hide his hereafter. (Reported by Bukhari and Muslim).

Helping your brother is better than ten years Iatikaaf

Ibnu Abbas (R) reports: The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said

If one walks in (fulfilling) the need of one’s brother, it is better for him than the I’atikaaf of ten years. If one performs I’atikaaf one day seeking the love of Allah, Allah will put between him and the hell the distance of the three trenches. Each trench is wider than that which is between East and West.

Enter happiness in other’s mind…

Ibnu Abbas (R) reports:

The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said

“The most loved action to Allah, after the obligatory duties, is to enter happiness to the Muslim”

Umar bin al Khattab (R) reports:

The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said

The best action is to enter happiness in the mind of a believer: by giving him dress or by stopping his hunger or by satisfying him some need.

Good character earns him sublime positions hereafter

Anas bin Malik (R) reports: The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said:

The slave of Allah will get by his good character the good positions hereafter and the great houses, though he is weak in worship. And one will get by his bad character the meanest position in hell.

Good character melts the sins

Ibnu Abbas (R) reports: The Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam said:

Good behavior melts the sins like the water melts ice berg. And the bad character destructs the good activities as the vinegar destructs the honey.
