Thought for the week

Patience is the half of faith

Patience is the half of faith

As human beings, we are suffering from a lot of pains. Some are born handicap in body and mind. And some are suffering from poverty and painful illness.

There is a certain kind of people who blame God for every suffering they are destined to. They find nothing beneficial for them in the world. In no way they find goodness in their life. They are not at all thankful to the Creator of the universe. Such people are angry to God and to everything in the world.

But a believer should not take the pains and sufferings in such a light minded manner. He can not feel anger to his Creator who gave him life, because the Creator Allah himself has told that he would examine the people with many kinds of sufferings like fear, starvation and the loss of life and wealth.

So a believer should necessarily be patient to the momentary sufferings in the present world, because this life is not eternal. The life and the death and all the things in between are for the purpose of examination of the human beings.

Allah gave the rich their richness, and to the poor their poverty not for his special favour or dislike to the each. But only for examine how do they take these things.

So, the patience is an essential quality which a believer should keep for the protection of faith. If one gets angry against God for the sufferings the people are afflicted to, and questions His ultimate Will and Fate he cannot be a good believer. That might be the reason why The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم   told:

 الصبر نصف الإيمان

Patience is half of the faith
