    The punishment of consuming alcohol

The punishment of consuming alcohol

Almighty Allah says..

O’you who believe, Intoxicates, gambling, idols and arrows for seeking luck or secession are an abomination from Satan’s handiwork. So avoid that in order that you may be successful. Satan wants only to excite enmity and hatred between you with intoxicants and gambling, and hinder you from the remembrance of Allah and from the prayers. So, will you not then abstain?(quran5:90-91)

Ibbn habbas(R) narrated that the prophet Muhammad (s) said,” alcohol is the mother of the lewd acts and the greatest of the great sin. Whoever drinks it could have intercourse with, his maternal aunt and his paternal aunt.

Abu huraira( R) narrated that the messenger of Allah said,” a fornicator while committing illegal sexual intercourse is not a true believer. A drinker while drinking alcohol is not a true believer”.

Khamr

Ibn umar(R ) narrated that ‘umar stood and at the pulpit and said,' the prohibition of khamr has been revealed. and khamr is made from five source:grapes, dates ,honey, whewheat and barley.Khamr is  anything which seizes the mind”

Ayisha(R )said that the prophet Muhammad swallallahu alaihi wasallam said." every intoxicantion is forbidden. If many gallons so something intoxicates, then even a handful of it is forbidden.

There is no difference between consuming a small or large amount of alcohol

Because prophet Muhammad swallallahu alaihi wasallam said." every intoxication is forbidden. if many faraq of something intoxicates, then even a handful of it is forbidden”

The punishment for consuming alcohol

If a legally responsible, on-coerced person knowingly drinks alcohol, he is to be flogged forty lashes. if the ruler sees that more should be added, he may increase it to eighty..

Al Hussein bin al mundir ( r)said”Ali (r )had al Waleed ibn uqbah flogged forty lashes for drinking alcohol. Then he said” the prophet (swallallahu alaihi wasallam) and Aboobakar flogged forty lashes.Umar(r ) lashed them eighty times. they are all sunnah and this one is most beloved to me
