Some poor people are in most confusion about Isthigasa ,thawassul and a direct prayer to Allah . They even confess that he has not much knowledge; then make a conclusion that it is better for us to resort in direct prayer and avoid all others. Actually all of a direct prayer, isthigasa and thawassul are ultimately one matter and the same in substance even though different in forms. In another word the three forms are meant for getting our needs from almighty Allah. The selection from the different forms of the same substance is user friendly. As the friend said if we look to the quranic verses including prayers we can see that all these prayers are done by prophets or great pious people. From this we can conclude that the asking to god directly is very relevant and we have model s in prophet and great pious men. So we Sunnis are not against asking to Allah directly. Here the question is what is better; the isthigasa or direct prayer in the light of quran and Hadith.(????????) The answer is that; in these verses or Hadiths in which prayers are included we can’t see any scope of comparison. If there is a scope of comparison we can assume what is better. So the question is irrelevant in the absence of the comparison scope. Here we have to analyze the background of Isthigasa and thawassul ; some times these may be the better than the direct prayer. As the point of view of a simple layman he is thinking that he has to confirm his loyalty and love towards the great pious man. The love and loyalty towards these pious men is also a good deed and great obedience to Allah. Prayer with a good deed is better than the prayer without any good deed. It is an undisputed truth agreed by all factions. That is our scholars are saying pray just after Namaz . Or do any Swadaqa or give arms to the poor before prayer. In short a prayer attached with a good deed is better than the prayer and without any attachment. The core of thawassul and Isthigasa is the confession and expression of love and loyalty towards pious men attached with a prayer to Almighty God. So as far as a laymen is concerned thawassul and isthigasa at times may be better. |
