The recommended things of
Salat
The recommended things while
entering Salat
1- To keep himself
away from the first and second calls of nature
2- To keep away from
the engagements
3- To be afresh and
to avoid laziness
4- To wear better
dresses. The white is the best.
5- To face a wall
with the height of 2/3 arm (around 0.453 m). The distance from the wall
should not be more than three arms (around 2.04 m). If he did not get a wall
he can turn to a stick. If he is unable to that he can spread a cloth
then he can draw a line in front in three arms. It is forbidden to walk
between the person who is performing Salat and the thing before him. If
anyone walks in front of him it is recommended to stop the stray.
6- Azan and Iqama.
7- To move from one
place to another for another Salat. If he is not moving then he has to sever
between Salat with talk or by going out.
8- To look into the
place of Sujood immediately before Takbeer and to down the head a little.
The recommended things
throughout Salat
1- Submissiveness
with the mind and organs.
2- Thinking of
Quraan and Zikr
3- To continue to downing of head and looking into
the place of Sujood till the last of Salat (except at the time of his
saying الا الله
in
Tashahhud. At that time he has look into the right index finger which is
raised.
The recommended things of
Niyyat
1- To add to Allah
2- To intend whether
Ada’a or Qada’a.
3- To intend that he
is turning to the Ka’aba
4- To indent the
number of Rak’as
5- To say that which
he intends
The recommended things of
Takbeer of Taharrum
1- To raise the two
hands with spreading them towards the shoulder and to start and end Takbeer
and raising at one time.
2- To use Sukoon on
the letter ‘r'
3- Takbeer should be
uttered noisily by the Imam.
The recommended things of
Qiyam
1- To widen between
the two legs with one span of the hand.
2- To put the two
arms after Takbeer under the chest and above the navel. He should grab the
left arm with the right arm. This should be done in all the Qiyams.
The recommended things of
Fatiha
1- The prayer of the
opening and seek refuge before Fatiha
2- To stop on the
end of every verses of Quraan
3- To
say
Aameen immediately after Fatiha
4- To recite at
least one verse from Quraan after Fatiha in the first two Rak’as. A small
complete chapter is better than the long fragments of a chapter.
5- Ma’amoom should
delay his Fatiha to that of Imam.
6- To quick with his
opening prayer while hearing the Recitation of Imam.
7- A small pause with the size of
سبحان الله
is recommended in six places; between Takbeer of Taharrum and the
opening prayer and between the opening prayer and seeking refuge and between
seeking refuge and Bismillah… and between Fatiha and Aameen and
between Aameen and Recitation of verses and between the verse and the
Takbeer for Rukoo’a.
8- The Ma’amoom who
finished his Fatiha before his Imam’s in the third and fourth Rak’a should
engage in prayer or the recitation of Quraan.
The opening prayer
The opening prayer
is recommended with five conditions. They are:
1- Salat should not
be for Janaza
2- He should not
start in seeking refuge or the recitation of Quraan
3- To be secure of
the going out of time
4- Ma’amoom should
not fear the lose of a part of Fatiha
5- Ma’amoom should
reach Imam in Rukoo’a
If one gathers all
the conditions he can recite the opening prayer, even though he recited
Aameen with Imam or feared the lose of the recitation of Quraan. The
best of the prayer that came from the Messenger Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
is the following one which is reported by Imam Muslim:
وجهت
وجهي للذي فطر السموات والأرض حنيفا مسلما وما أنا من المشركين. ان صلاتي ونسكي
ومحياي ومماتي لله رب العالمين. لا شريك له وبذالك أمرت وأنا من المسلمين.
The single and the
Imam of the limited followers who like the prolonging of Salat are
recommended to add the following prayer also:
اللهم باعد بيني وبين خطاياي كما باعدت بين
المشرق والمغرب اللهم نقني من خطاياي كما ينقى الثوب الابيض من الدنس اللهم
اغسلني من خطاياي كما يغسل الثوب بالماء والثلج والبرد.
Sura
Recitation of a
chapter is recommended in the first two Rak’as for all except the Ma’amoom
who hears the Qiraat of Imam. And it is recommended to the Masbooq in
the last Rak’as if he did not get the Recitation of the Sura of the
Imam. The Recitation of the first Sura should be longer than the second one.
The order of the Quraan and the continuation should be kept.
The recommended things of
Rukoo’a
1- To raise both hands to the shoulders reciting
الله أكبر
while he
bowing to the Rukoo’a. He should prolong the Takbeer till the end of
bowing.
2- To balance the back horizontally like a flat plate
3- To put the knees erect and to widen with one span of hand.
4- To hold the knees with palms and to spread the fingers.
5- To recite
سبحان ربي العظيم وبحمده
one
or three times. Three is the least of the perfection.
6- The single and the Imam of the
limited group can recite Tasbeeh 11 times and add
سبحانك اللهم
وبحمدك اللهم اغفر لي. اللهم لك ركعت وبك أمنت ولك أسلمت خشع لك سمعي وبصري
ومخي وعظمي وعصبي وشعري وبشري وما استقلت به قدمي لله رب العالمين.
7- The male should spread out the elbows from the sides and stomach from the
thighs, while others should join the elbows to the sides and the
stomach to the thighs.
The recommended things of I’atidal
1- To raise the hands towards the shoulders while rising from
Rukoo’a reciting
سمع الله لمن حمده
2- To say after the pause
ربنا لك الحمد ملأ السموات وملء الأرض وملء ما
شئت من شيئ بعد
3-
The single and the Imam of the limited group can recite the following Zikr
also:
أهل الثناء والمجد أحق ما قال العبد وكلنا لك
عبد لا مانع لما أعطيت ولا معطي لما منعت ولا ينفع ذا الجد منك الجد
4- The recitation of
Qunoot: It is recommended to recite Qunoot after the regular Zikr in the
last I’atidal of the Subh prayer and the Vitr of the second half of
the Ramadan. While the Qunoot it is recommended to raise hands towards
the shoulder. And Qunoot is also recommended in all the five prayer for a
some wide calamities occurred or going to occure.
Qunoot will be
fulfilled by any prayer. The best of the prayers came from the Messenger
Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam is as follows:
اللهم اهدني فيمن
هديت وعافني فيمن عافيت وتولني فيمن توليت وبارك لي فيما أعطيت وقني شر ما قضيت
فانك تقضي ولا يقضى عليك وانه لا يذل من واليت ولا يعز من عاديت تباركت ربنا
وتعاليت فلك الحمد على ما قضيت أستغفرك وأتوب اليك.
After this prayer Salat and Salam on the Messenger Sallallahu Alaihi
Wasallam and his family and followers are recommended.
The recommended things of Sujood
1- Takbeer for the falling to Sujood
2- To put the nose
3- To keep order in putting the organs, i.e, to put the knees first
then the palms against the shoulders and then the forehead and the
nose.
4- To widen the feet and knees with one span of hand while putting
on the ground.
5- To raise the arms from the ground and to spread the fingers
towards the Qibla.
6- To put the feet erect and turn the toes to the Qibla.
7- To put weight on the all organs other than the head (on the head
is necessary)
8- The male should disclose all the organs of Sujood except the
knees.
9- To open the eyes for the eyes to perform Sujood
10- The male should spread out the elbows from the sides and stomach
from the thighs, while others should join the elbows to the sides and
the stomach to the thighs
11- To recite
سبحان ربي الأعلى وبحمده
one
or three times.
12- The single and the Imam of the limited group are recommended to increase
the number of Tasbeeh to 11 times and to add the following Zikr also:
اللهم لك سجدت وبك أمنت ولك أسلمت سجد وجهي للذي خلقه وصوره وشق سمعه وبصره
بحوله وقوته تبارك الله أحسن الخالقين.
And more prayers and Zikr are
also recommended to them. One the prayer which came to us is:
اللهم اني أعوذ
برضاك من سخطك وبمعافاتك من عقوبتك وأعوذ بك منك لا نحصي ثناء عليك أنت كما
أثنيت على نفسك أللهم اغفر لي ذنبي كله دقه وجله وأوله وأخره وعلانيته وسره
The recommended things of the sitting
between the Sujoods
1- Takbeer for rising from Sujood
2- Iftirash: This is sitting on the left ankle and putting the right
feet erect while the ends of the toes are turned to the Qibla.
3- Putting the palms on the thighs near the knees while the fingers
are spread and turned to the Qibla.
4- Reciting the following Zikr:
رب اغفر لي
وارحمني واجبرني وارفعني وارزقني واهدني وعافني
5- To support on the palms while rising from Sujood.
The recommended things of Tashahhud,
Salat and the sitting for them
1- Tawarruk: This is a sitting like Iftirash, but here the left foot
is taken out under the right leg and the buttock will be juxtaposed to
the ground. Tawarruk is recommended to all except to him who is Masbooq or
he has the Sujood of forget. At that time he has to sit Iftirash.
2- To put the palms on the ends of the knees spreading the left
fingers turned to the Qibla and to hold the right fingers except the
index finger and to put the thumb at the base of the index.
3- To raise the index finger while utterance of
الا الله
and to
look into the finger till the Qiyam or Salam.
4- Salat on the Family of the Messenger Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam
after the Salat on him. And the perfect form of Salat is as follows:
اللهم صل على
سيدنا محمد وعلى أل سيدنا محمد كما صليت على ابرهيم وعلى أل ابراهيم وبارك على
سيدنا محمد وعلى أل سيدنا محمد كما باركت على ابراهيم وعلى ال ابراهيم في
العالمين انك حميد مجيد
5- Prayer after the last Tashahhud and Salat. The one that came down from
The Messenger is better. The following are those which came from the
Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam .
ا) اللهم اغفر لي
ما قدمت وما أخرت وما أسررت وما أعلنت وما أسرفت وما أنت أعلم به مني أنت
المقدم وأنت المؤخر لا اله الا أنت.
ب) اللهم اني اعوذ
بك من عذاب القبر ومن عذاب النار ومن فتنة المحيا والممات ومن فتنة المسيح
الدجال.
ت) اللهم
اني ظلمت نفسي ظلما كبيرا كثيرا لا يغفر الذنوب الا أنت فاغفر لي مغفرة من عندك
انك أنت الغفور الرحيم.
The second one is the most important one among the prayers.
The recommended things of Salam
1- The intention of finishing Salat
2- The second Salam
3- To add
ورحمة الله
in Salam
4- To turn to either sides in the two Salams.
5- To start both Salam facing the Qibla and end them with the end of
turning
6- To bring Salam quickly and not to prolong
7- Ma’amoom to perform Salam after both the Salams of the Imam.
8- To intend by the Salam on the angels, believers and to intend the
return for the Salam of the Imam and other Ma’amooms.
The recommended things between the Rak’as
1- Istiraha: This means sitting of rest with the measure of
سبحان
الله
at
the time of rising from the any Sujood except that of Tilawa.
2- The first Tashahhud immediately after the second Sujood of the
second Rak’a (of the Salat which has more than two Rak’as)
3- Salat on the Messenger of Allah Sallallahu Alaihi Wasallam after
the first Tashahhud
4- To sit (Iftirash) for Tashahhud and Salat
The recommended things which intrude
Salat
The following things are recommended while in Salat
1- The praise of Allah by the one who sneezed
2- Returning Salam by gesture in Salat and by word after the
completion of the Salat
3- To clear the recitation of Quraan of the Imam
4- Tasbeeh by the male and clapping by the female to caution Imam of
his errors
5- To change Fardh into Nafl if the single finds Jama’at
6- To cut Fardh if he fears the lose of Jama’at
The last two are recommended only if the time is vast enough to do
the Fardh before the passing of the time.
7- Sujood of Tilawat is recommended if he goes through the verse of
Sujood
8- To ask the mercy of Allah and seek refuge when he goes through
the Ayats of mercy and admonition
9- To say
سبحان ربي العظيم
while reciting
فسبح باسم ربك العظيم
10- To say
بلى وأنا من الشاهدين
while reciting
أليس الله بأحكم الحاكمين
The recommended things after Salat
Zikr and Dua are recommended after Salat. It is better to recite
Zikr and Dua before the Salat Rawatib. There came many of them from The
